Vision Entrepreneur Sujatha Forges a New Future
India Program
After the sudden death of her husband, Sujatha was unable to support her 5-year-old son. Scojo Foundation's flexible program allowed her to set her own hours — currently averaging 20 per week — and earn enough to maintain her family. Her work provides access to reading glasses in a very poor area of rural India where quality vision care would otherwise be impossible to find. The need is so great that she is often stopped as she's walking to town and asked to provide a vision screening right on the spot. Seeing the fruits of her hard work, a close friend asked to partner with her and now they now stage campaigns together.

Vision Entrepreneur Doña Yolanda Promoted to District Coordinator
Guatemala Program
Yoli had barely begun work as a Scojo Vision Entrepreneur when people in her small town began lining up outside her home. Some she could help directly while others she referred to eye clinics in the capital for treatment. She quickly realized the importance of getting buy-in from the local village elders and soon began setting up campaigns in neighboring villages. As her confidence and success continued to grow, Yoli eventually became the first Vision Entrepreneur promoted to District Coordinator. Now she helps other Vision Entrepreneurs to start on their own paths to sustainable livelihoods.

Bike Mechanic's Business Flourishes Thanks to Scojo Foundation
India Program
For Mohammed Jabbar, losing his up-close vision meant a decline in his bike repair business. He couldn't see to write in his log book and began to lose track of his customers and finances. His income suffered and he could no longer contribute to the savings he had painstakingly put away for his four children. Frustrated, Mohammed went to his local Scojo Vision Entrepreneur for a screening and purchased his first pair of reading glasses. With clear vision, he now accurately and efficiently manages his business and saves for his children's future.

Family Tailoring Business Resurges with Purchase of Reading Glasses
India Program
When Devaraju's up-close vision became blurry, his tailoring business was the first thing to suffer. The quality of his work declined and he couldn't take on as many jobs as he used to. His wife tried to pick up the slack but didn't have time to care for their two children. Overwhelmed and rapidly losing income, the couple went to see a Scojo Vision Entrepreneur in their town, from whom Devaraju purchased an inexpensive pair of reading glasses. Thanks to his new glasses, Devaraju's tailoring is once again seamless, his business is booming, and his family has time to spend together.
